Meet The Team
Chris Sanborne
Chris has spent the last decade helping people connect with wine, one bottle at a time. As a sommelier and sales executive in Napa Valley, he’s worked with some of the most respected wineries in California, building relationships that go beyond transactions.
Before cofounding Sipp, Chris led wine sales where he honed his palate, deepened his understanding of terroir, and became a trusted bridge between wineries and their guests. He’s seen firsthand how overwhelming wine can feel for newcomers and how magical it becomes when discovery is personal.
At Sipp, Chris brings deep industry insight, sommelier level tasting skills, and a calm, grounded presence to the founding team. His role is part guide, part steward helping ensure our AI understands not just the science of wine, but the soul of it.
Joseph Moran
Joseph approaches wine the same way he approached science with curiosity, precision, and reverence for complexity. Before cofounding Sipp, he worked as a scientist studying virology and gene therapy. Now, he’s applying that same problem solving mindset to the world of wine.
After falling in love with wine’s ability to evoke memory and meaning, Joseph saw an opportunity to bridge tradition and technology. He taught himself to code, built AI tools from the ground up, and eventually drove across the country to immerse himself in wine country.
At Sipp, Joseph leads product and vision, building an AI that doesn’t just recommend wine, but understands people. He’s the architect behind Sipp’s core experience designing it to feel intuitive, personal, and sacred. His goal is simple: help people remember the wines they love, and discover new ones that feel like home.
